Museum of Australian Currency Notes


In the Reserve Bank Building is this free museum. Recommended. The cartoon character in the window is 'Dollar Bill', used to launch the introduction of decimal currency on 14 February 1966. I still remember the jingle, can you?

A surveyor and explorer of south-eastern Australia, he was born at Craigend in Scotland on 15 June 1792. He died on 5 October 1855. He is buried at Camperdown Cemetery, Newtown. This statue is on Bridge Street.
